LONG-TERM MONITORING

I have been part of numerous long-term monitoring teams throughout my career, collecting data that highlights trends and patterns in marine ecosystems and contributes to our ability to manage these systems appropriately.

Partnership for the Interdisciplinary Studies of Coastal Oceans (PISCO), California

As part of the Raimondi-Carr Lab at UC Santa Cruz, I conducted benthic and fish transects on SCUBA and monitored the recruitment of juvenile rockfish to the kelp forest.

Marine Monitoring Team, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI)

During my time at the CNMI Coastal Resources Management Office, I conducted invertebrate transects on SCUBA at long-term monitoring sites off Saipan, Tinian and Rota.

Atlantic and Gulf Rapid Reef Assessment (AGRRA), Dominica, West Indies

Dominica is a small island in the Eastern Caribbean with a nearshore system characterized by unique coral reef habitats. Very little monitoring of these places has been done. I had the opportunity, during my time at the Institute for Tropical Marine Studies (ITME) to conduct fish surveys using the AGRRA protocol on reefs around the island.
